Frequently Asked Questions

About Custom Portraits

How long does a portrait take?

Capturing a high level of detail and accuracy is a process that requires many long hours of work. This will depend upon my schedule and length of waiting list. It’s generally busier leading up to Christmas so you need to book well in advance to avoid disappointment. If you have a certain deadline in mind, I will try my best to fit you in. Rush fees may apply depending on the complexity and timeframe.

When do I pay?

I require a 50% deposit upfront to secure your booking. The remaining cost will be paid upon completion of the portrait.

What photos do you need?

Reference photos are vital to the success of a painting. Three to five (3-5) quality photos are preferred. Please see my photo guide for more information.

I don’t have a picture of my pets together, can you work from individual photos?

Yes! Most of the multiple subject portraits you see in my gallery and social media have been created using different individual photos combined together. Before creating the original I will create a mock up combining the different individual photos you provide so you get an idea of how the subjects will look together.

Is postage included?

No, postage is not included in the cost.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, I can ship all over the world. Please contact me for an estimated shipping quote. Do allow plenty of time as shipping can take several weeks to arrive.

About Fine Art Prints

How are prints shipped?

Fine art prints are shipped flat or rolled, depending on the size and destination. It is my top priority to ensure the safety of your package, so shipping methods are determined on an order-to-order basis.

Do you offer framing and/or matting?

No, I currently do not offer framing or matting. I do not plan on offering framing or matting in the future as it is a difficult process that is best left to professional framing companies. I am happy to offer advice on colors and styles, as well as my personal recommendations for framing companies.

About My Art

How long have you been drawing/painting?

I’ve been drawing and painting since I was a child. I was the type of kid that was always drawing in the back of the room and filling up sketchbooks worth of drawings. In high school I focused on learning the basis of art and was encouraged by my teachers to pursue a future of making artwork. I began my undergraduate degree in 2018 pursuing a BFA in Studio Art with a minor in Art History. I plan on finishing my degree in 2022 and continuing on to complete a graduate degree.

Do you teach?

At the moment I do not offer any educational materials about my process. However, I have considered preparing an online course about my techniques. If this is something you’d be interested in, please let me know. If there’s a demand for informational materials then I may choose to go through with creating an online course.
